On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you'll be met and assisted by a representative. After transferring to your hotel, the rest of the day is at leisure. For those feeling adventurous, optional excursions are available to enhance your first day. You might visit the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage to see rescued elephants up close, or head to Giraffe Manor to feed giraffes from the palm of your hand. Another fascinating option is the Karen Blixen Museum, which offers a glimpse into the life of the renowned author of "Out of Africa."

After an early breakfast at your hotel, you will be met and transferred to the Railway Station for your train journey to Mtito Andei on board the Madaraka Express departing at 08:00 am. You will be met on arrival at approximately 10:50 am by a representative from your lodge and transferred to your lodge in Tsavo West National Park. The park is a vast expansion of African savanna with a more diverse array of habitats which include open plains, semi desert scrub, woodland, Chyulu Hills and rock outcrops. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. This afternoon, depart on a game drive in the park.

Nairobi to Tsavo West National Park

Located on a ridge that commands magnificent sweeping views of the Chyulu hills at the foot of Mt Kilimanjaro, Kilaguni was the first lodge ever to be built in a National park way back in 1962. The Lodge is located in the middle of the world renowned Tsavo National Park halfway between Nairobi and Mombasa and boasts a huge population of elephants.

Today is spent in Tsavo West National Park enjoying morning and afternoon game drives. Tsavo West is one of the largest national parks in Kenya and due its vast size it covers a variety of landscapes ranging from swamps, natural springs and rocky peaks to extinct volcanoes, rolling plains and sharp outcrops dusted with greenery. The park has one of the largest populations of Red Elephants in East Africa as well as a diverse variety of wildlife featuring Buffalos, Bushbuck, Elands, Giraffes, Hartebeest, Impala, Leopards, Lions, Oryx, Wildebeest and many more. Over 500 bird species habitat to the area, making Tsavo a bird spotters paradise.

Enjoy an early breakfast at your lodge. After checking out, you will be transferred to the Emali Railway Station in time for your train departing for Nairobi at approximately 12:40 pm. Upon arrival in Nairobi at approximately 2:10 pm, you will be met and transferred to the Four Points by Sheraton for lunch. Afterwards, you will be transferred to the international Airport for your onward flight.
