This morning, visit the historic Casa do Pão de Ló in Felgueiras, where one of Portugal’s most beloved sponge cakes has been baked for centuries. A family member will take you through the beautiful manor house, share stories of baking secrets, and guide you through a live demonstration and tasting, paired with—you guessed it—Port wine. In the afternoon, continue to Gondomar, the heart of Portuguese filigree jewelry. Walk through the Filigree Museum, then step inside a working artisan’s studio where delicate gold threads are twisted into wearable works of art. Watch as tradition is passed from skilled hands to heirloom treasures and maybe take something special home with you. Later we gather for a delicious local dinner before resting for the night at our hotel.

Next, be welcomed by a visionary local host, whose passion for his village has transformed it into a cultural and culinary gem. Visit the Bread and Wine Museum, tour his Quinta (wine estate), and enjoy an authentic regional lunch complete with live Concertina music, echoing through the hills like a celebration of life itself. Return to Guimarães where we meet for the final night and share our favourite moments of the trip over dinner.
