A unique opportunity to admire the city of Porto by night during a panoramic tour by coach.

You will love the old, preserved districts of this city of immense character, listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. During the tour of the historic center, your guide will schedule a stop at the Sao Bento railway station to look at its magnificent azulejos.

 

Guided tour of Porto

You will depart for Porto's city center by coach, starting with a visit of the iconic St. Francis Church.

Next, explore the stunning interior of Bolsa Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, featuring the Golden Room and the lavishly decorated Arab Room. Then, delve into the art of azulejo tile making at a workshop before returning to the ship in the afternoon.

 

Tour of Mateus Palace and the Douro Museum

Embark on a coach journey to discover Mateus Palace, renowned as the most exquisite manor in northern Portugal.

Wander through the splendid gardens enveloping the palace, immersing yourself in their beauty. Afterwards, venture to Vila Real for some leisure time. This palace stands as a pinnacle of baroque civil architecture in Portugal. Conclude your day back in Régua with a visit of the Douro Museum, delving into the captivating history and winemaking legacy of the region.

 

Guided tour of Salamanca (lunch included)

You will leave by coach for Salamanca. Since 1988, the Old Town of Salamanca has been listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

You’ll visit the cathedral, whose successive extensions created a mixture of styles going from late Gothic to Baroque and including Renaissance. Afterwards, you’ll visit one of the world’s oldest universities. After lunch, enjoy the whole afternoon strolling through the town on your own.

 

Tour of the Port Wine Route and Pinhão

Embark on a coach journey along the enchanting Port Wine Route, tracing Portugal's rich vineyard heritage dating back to the Roman Empire.

Marvel at the picturesque landscapes and valleys with the river meandering below. Your adventure proceeds to Pinhão, where you will indulge in a wine tasting session at a quintessential quinta. Following this delightful experience, explore the historic Pinhão train station renowned for its magnificent azulejo frescoes.

Departure flight to Lisbon.

Arrival at the airport in Lisbon. You will be greeted by our local representatives after exiting the customs and transferred to your hotel in Lisbon. The rest of the day is free for you to start your exploration of Portugal's capital city.

Following breakfast, free time to explore Lisbon. In a maze of sloping alleys and serpentine staircases, life in the old town of Lisbon is rhythmed by the sound of colorful streetcars, a favorite means of transportation among locals. Visit the Belem Cultural Center with the Tower of Belem, erected in the 16th century to control the entrance of the city from the sea, and the Jeronimos Monastery which is a resting place for numerous historic Portuguese characters. (Breakfast)

Breakfast at the hotel. Pick up and transfer to Porto in the afternoon. After comfortably settling into your cabins, you will be introduced to the crew at a welcome cocktail. In the evening, discover the facilities of the ship or opt for an optional panoramic city tour of Porto "by night". (Breakfast-Dinner)

Beginning of your cruise.

Boarding: 05:00 pm

Breakfast on board. After breakfast, you are free to continue exploring Porto at your own pace. The country's second largest city, Porto is home to fascinating neighborhoods, unusual architecture, and a historic center that was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996. You can also choose a guided tour of Porto ($) which includes a visit to Saint Francis Church, also known as the 'Golden Church.' You’ll then explore the grand Palace of the Stock Exchange, a 19th-century UNESCO-listed landmark, where you can admire the Golden Room and the lavish Arab Room with stained glass and intricate wood carvings. The tour concludes at an azulejos workshop, where you’ll discover the art behind Portugal’s traditional blue-and-white tiles. Return on board, and afternoon sailing in the Douro Valley, where you can observe an amazing, preserved landscape. You'll pass through the gigantic Carrapatello lock, the highest in Europe with a 35-meter drop above the Douro.  Arrival in Regua during the evening. Entertaining evening. (Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner)

After breakfast, enjoy some free time to continue exploring this beautiful wine region. You may also opt for an optional visit ($) to Mateus Palace, renowned as the most exquisite manor in northern Portugal. Wander through the splendid gardens surrounding the palace, immersing yourself in their beauty. Afterwards, visit the Douro Museum and discover the captivating history and winemaking legacy of the region. Return on board. Afternoon sailing to Vera de Teron where you'll sail through the heart of Porto's renowned vineyards, where men have sculpted the mountains to create terraces adorned with rows of vines, resulting in the production of the world-famous Port wine. Spanish-themed evening. (Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner)

Breakfast on board. Today, choose your optional full-day tour ($) to discover Salamanca, the capital of the Spanish community of Castile-Leon. Discover its renowned university, one of the oldest in Europe, as well as its must-see cathedral, built between the 12th and 18th centuries in the heart of the old town and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988. Afterwards, you're free to stroll at your own pace. Return on board and sail towards Senhora Da Ribeira.

This is the night we like to dress up, although no dress code is imposed. The crew, all in their dress uniform, are presented to the passengers who are invited to have a drink with the captain. That evening, the chef will serve a banquet paying a special tribute to the world of French gastronomy. Traditional folk entertainment follows this gala dinner. (Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner)

After breakfast, take advantage of your free time to continue exploring on your own, or choose to participate ($) in a PortWine Route tour, tracing Portugal's rich vineyard heritage that dates back to the Roman Empire.
