Amazing Experience

Overview

Trip Overview

This 9-day, air-inclusive luxury escape to the Island of the Gods offers unparalleled relaxation with plenty of time at leisure, along with immersive experiences that include a Balinese cooking class.

Check into your Ubud hotel and spend your first days in Bali simply unwinding, slowing to the rhythms of Indonesia’s only Hindu island, and exploring the local shops, museums, and restaurants. Take things at your own pace. See the famous terraced rice paddies and explore the pristine rainforest that surrounds the town. Note that unlike many of Bali’s resort areas, Ubud is not a beach town, so your time here is all about enjoying Balinese culture. On your last day here, enjoy a cooking class, buying fresh ingredients alongside the locals at Ubud’s markets, and learning about Balinese cuisine.

Your Bali vacation moves to the beautiful beaches of Jimbaran for four more nights, with more time at leisure to explore this side of the island. This part of your stay includes a half day tour of the local sights including the Royal Temple, the monkey forest of Alas Kedaton, and a Batik making centre where you’ll see one of Bali’s oldest indigenous art forms in action.

The Samaya Ubud

Experience a hands-on cooking class and learn how to whip up some delicious traditional Balinese dishes! The morning starts by meeting your host and the other guests who are joining the class. Together stroll around the colourful market in Ubud where the locals bargain for the best produce. Browse the stalls piled high with colourful vegetables, tropical fruits, exotic spices and fragrant herbs. The host will explain the different produce, how it is used in Indonesian cuisine, and will offer tips on selecting the best ingredients. Back at the cooking class, you will be shown how to recreate age old traditional dishes using curries, sambal and the freshest seasonal vegetables. The class is completely hands-on so you will grind the different spices and learn how to use the various utensils in preparing the dishes. The class ends with a delicious lunch where you get to enjoy your own homemade Balinese feast.

Spend a day on the Island of the Gods focused on Balinese art, inspiring views, and a unique spa experience. Meet your guide and driver in the morning and drive to the Puri Lukisan Museum, the oldest art museum in Bali. Here you can admire an array of paintings and wood carvings from prominent Balinese artists.

Continue to the stunning highland area of Kintamani. From the rim of the Batur Caldera, take in the spectacular views over the massive crater lake and the still-active volcano. The nearby Bagus Jati Resort is the venue for a healthy lunch made from fresh produce from the resort's own garden. Set amongst lush tropical forests in the mountains of Ubud, the resort offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

After lunch, head to the spa and prepare to unwind with an indulgent two-hour spa treatment. Start with a refreshing foot bath followed by a traditional Balinese massage. Then immerse yourself in a Madura island rock salt bath that warms the body allowing the pores to open. The spa therapist will then apply a conditioning body mask comprised of ginger, cloves, and other spices ground with brown rice, all enclosed with an outer banana leaf body wrap. A soothing head and face massage completes this spa experience. Feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, relax and enjoy the views on the drive back to your hotel.

This full day tour showcases Bali's breathtaking landscapes, including its world-renowned rice terraces. The journey takes you through back roads of quaint villages to Pejaten, where you can observe the traditional tile-making industry. Next, proceed to Tegal Linggah village to visit the revered Batukaru Temple. Nestled amidst the tranquil tropical rainforest on the slopes of Mount Batukaru, this ancient temple is considered one of the most sacred on the island. From there, venture through expansive rice fields to reach the vibrant fruit and flower market at Candi Kuning, followed by a visit to the 17th-century Ulun Danu water temple situated along the serene Lake Beratan shoreline.

Enjoy a pleasant ride along the hills of Bali's southern peninsula. This area, known as Bukit, offers a landscape of rugged limestone cliffs and world-renowned surf breaks that is unlike any other on the island. At the southwestern tip of the peninsula, perched on a cliff 70 meters above the Indian Ocean and offering stunning views, is the incredible Uluwatu Temple. The Kecak Dance performance at Uluwatu Temple is a traditional Balinese dance that involves a group of men chanting "cak" in a rhythmic and hypnotic way, while dancers in elaborate costumes tell the story of the Ramayana, creating a captivating and unforgettable experience against the backdrop of the temple and the sunset. The tour ends up at Jimbaran Beach to enjoy an incredible Seafood dinner, served on the beach before returning to your hotel.
