This is a family-friendly off-beach resort with an attractive tropical gingerbread-house style that is clean and tidy. The location, across from a popular public beach, makes it a great value for many, but the 30-second road crossing to the beach is a bother when dragging towels and beach bags. For many, the tradeoff in price is worth it though.
Free from the hubbub of the high-rise hotel district and out of the stranglehold of downtown Oranjestad, this local hero is a self-effacing option with a deferential staff and rates that fairly reflect perky standards.
