This tour offers a fully immersive social and cultural experience combining a walking tour, hands-on cooking workshop, and 2-course lunch. Embark on a voyage into the life, food, and culture of the Cape Malay's in Bo Kaap before trying a hands-on, practical lesson on how to cook like a real Cape Malay 'Auntie'! Learn how to make a variety of Cape Malay favorites and how to mix Masala for that perfect pot of Cape Malay Curry! Learn how to mix Masala, and make Rotis, Samoosas, Dhaltjies, and Chicken Curry from scratch! Afterward, enjoy the delicious feast you have helped create for lunch. After lunch, head out on your afternoon tour of Cape Town, the 'Mother City'. city tour. Sense the depth of history as you drive past Parliament Buildings, City Hall, and the Slave Lodge before stopping for a short visit to the Castle of Good Hope (optional), originally built as a maritime replenishment station and now the oldest surviving colonial building in South Africa! Alternatively, we walk around the Grand Parade square which has its own historical significance. We hear of the brief history of District Six en route to a visit at the Company Gardens where we walk through the landscaped gardens. Trace the moves of a professional diamond cutter as he creates every girl's dream stone with a visit to a diamond-cutting factory. After learning more about the history of diamonds and gold in South Africa, we drive past the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town Stadium, Sea Point, Clifton, and Camps Bay as we make our way to Table Mountain where you can ascend to the top (Cable Ariel way ticket included -- weather permitting) to reach the summit. After delighting in this photo opportunity, return to the hotel where the remainder of the day is at your leisure.
