On this private tour you will discover the fascinating city of Porto, a UNESCO world heritage site, known for its Port Wine and visited for its riverside hills, medieval alleys, historic monuments, churches and enchanting atmosphere. During the tour, you will have the opportunity to visit the Avenue dos Aliados, one of the central points of Porto due to its wide boulevard, surrounded by impressive Neoclassical buildings. Visit the Estacao de Sao Bento, Porto's main train station and admire its 20,000 azulejos (typical ceramic tiles of Portugal). Close to the Avenida dos Aliados, see the Torre dos Clerigos, the symbol of Porto dating back to the 18th century. Discover the Lello bookshop with its neo-gothic facade and Carmo church splendid architecture. Finally, see the Dom Luis I Bridge dating back to the 19th century, with its two levels, the lower part connecting the Ribeira district with the area of the wine cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia. At the end of this tour, you will have the option to visit a famous wine cellar with a Porto wine tasting (supplement required).
A Full day tour to the Douro valley, the first wine region to be demarcated in the world and the landscape classified as UNESCO World Heritage defines this charming region. Famous for its production of port wine, the Douro valley is a scenic region with spectacular views of terraces slopes of vineyards leading down to the Douro river. Departing from Hotel in Porto at 09h00 to northeast direction to visit: Amarante, surrounded by the great Serra do Marão rising above the city in with a breathtaking landscapes and with the river Tâmega and the picturesque houses standing on its banks, with its imposing brigde and S. Gonçalo’s church. Amarante's sweets are famous: 'papos de anjo', 'brisas do Tâmega', 'toucinho do céu', 'bolos de São Gonçalo', 'galhofas'. Arriving in Régua, the official centre of Port wine region, we make a brief pause, is an extremely picturesque spot, offering a magnificent panoramic view of the whole region. Our next stop will be Pinhão, driving on one of the most enchanting routes in Portugal. In Pinhão we will admire the stunning tile panels in Pinhão railway station walls. Optional: Regular/shared guided visit to a Douro Valley winery and learn about local winemaking as you sample different wines & have a traditional lunch of regional specialties accompanied with local wine in the restaurant (Lunch: 1 starter + 1 main dish + 1 dessert + coffee+ wines selection, mineral water and soft drinks) of one of the Douro's best-known wine producers "Quinta da Pacheca" or similar
