Arrival at the airport in Amsterdam. Transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore the city on your own.

Affectionately known as the "Venice of the North," Amsterdam is actually situated below sea level and built entirely on stakes driven into the ground. The Anne Frank House, The Hague and a Delft Blue Pottery Factory are but a few of the sights that await your arrival.

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning at leisure. In the afternoon, transfer to the port of Amsterdam to board the river cruise ship. After comfortably settling in your cabin, you will be introduced to the crew at a welcome cocktail. (Breakfast-Dinner)

Following breakfast on board, you will have free time in the morning to continue exploring Amsterdam at your leisure, or you can choose to join an optional morning guided city tour ($). Amsterdam stands out as one of the most unique and extraordinary cities globally, offering a rich tapestry of art, culture, and architecture. Glide along the UNESCO-listed canals, admiring the charming narrow houses, majestic seventeenth-century mansions, and iconic bridges that grace this enchanting urban landscape.

In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to opt for an optional tour to visit Haarlem ($), a charming and authentic Dutch town. Known as the “City of Tulips,” it has long been a center for tulip bulb production and export. With its picturesque streets, scenic canals, and well-preserved architecture, Haarlem offers a perfect blend of culture, history, and a relaxed atmosphere. You'll return to the ship and will be cruising to Nijmegen through the night. (Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner)

Nijmegen is situated on the banks of the Waal River and is known for its rich history, beautiful architecture, and vibrant cultural scene. The city was founded by the Romans in the first century AD, and is known for its beautiful natural landscapes. Today, you can still see remnants of the Roman era in Nijmegen, such as the ruins of a Roman bathhouse and a reconstructed Roman military camp. Nijmegen offers a vibrant cultural scene with numerous museums, theaters, and music venues. 

After breakfast on board, you can opt for an optional tour ($) to visit the Dutch Open Air Museum of Arnhem. The museum showcases the cultural heritage of the Dutch people through a collection of historical buildings and exhibits. You can explore different buildings and learn about traditional crafts, agricultural practices, and domestic life in different eras. Upon your return, the ship sets sail toward Cologne. Upon arrival in the evening, enjoy an evening of traditional entertainment on board. (Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner)

Breakfast on board. This morning, you will have free time to explore Cologne on your own or take part in an optional guided walking tour ($) to explore this largest city on the Rhine. During the walking tour, you will visit the cathedral and Cologne’s Old Town, and pass by the famous “Eau de Cologne” house & more. This city is known for its cathedral, a landmark of High Gothic architecture, as well as the Museum Ludwig, which showcases an impressive collection of 20th-century art. After returning to the ship by coach, set sail up the Rhine River toward Koblenz, offering scenic views along the way. Upon arrival, enjoy free time to explore the city at your own pace. Take a stroll to the famous Deutsches Eck, the iconic meeting point of two rivers and one of Germany’s most scenic landmarks. Begin your day with breakfast on board as you cruise through the magnificent Rhine Valley toward Mainz, admiring the scenic river landscapes along the way.

In the early afternoon, you may choose to join an optional walking tour ($) of Mainz, including its impressive cathedral and the charming streets of the Old Town. The visit continues to the Gutenberg Museum, dedicated to the inventor of the printing press and showcasing one of the world’s most important collections on the history of printing. Later, return to your ship and relax with an evening of dancing as you cruise toward Strasbourg. (Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner)

The tour continues with a visit to the impressive cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture dominating the heart of the city. Return to the ship for tonight’s festive gala evening! The crew, dressed in formal uniforms, are introduced to the passengers, who are invited to enjoy a drink with the captain. Colmar is a colorful Alsatian city full of charm, where you will explore the picturesque Little Venice district before visiting the museum, renowned for its exceptional collection spanning 7,000 years of history. After the tour, return to your ship and continue your journey toward Basel in comfort. (Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner)

Guided tour of Haarlem

Departure by coach with your guides to Haarlem, the “City of Tulips” and a historic center for tulip bulb production and export.

This charming town has inspired generations of painters with its picturesque streets and rich heritage. Discover key landmarks such as the 14th-century Amsterdamse Poort, the Grote Markt, the Gothic St. Bavo Cathedral, and the Corrie Ten Boom House, a former WWII hiding place, as well as several historic beguinages. Free time will be provided before returning to Amsterdam.

Tour of the Dutch Open Air Museum in Arnhem

Departure by coach to the Netherlands Open Air Museum, set in a beautiful 44-hectare wooded park.

This open-air museum brings Dutch history to life with around 80 authentic buildings, including farms, windmills, houses, workshops, a church, and a school. Discover traditional interiors, crafts, and highlights such as the Limburg and Gelderland regions, as well as the picturesque Zaan area with its iconic green wooden houses. The visit also includes panoramic views from the entrance pavilion and the immersive HollandRama experience. Return to the ship by coach.

 

Guided tour of Cologne

Departure on foot to the city center of Cologne with your guide. Admire the impressive exterior of the Gothic Cologne Cathedral, a masterpiece that took more than five centuries to complete.

Continue to the Old Town to see the exterior of the historic “Eau de Cologne” building, a fine example of neo-Gothic architecture. You will then enjoy some free time to stroll through the streets of Cologne or taste the famous local Kölsch beer ($) before returning to your cruise ship by coach.

 

Guided tour of Mainz and the Gutenberg Museum

You will set off on foot with your guides to discover Mainz, a historic city founded by the Romans over 2,000 years ago.

Admire its elegant architecture, beautifully restored old houses, and its unique setting at the confluence of the Rhine and Main rivers.

With your guide, visit the impressive Mainz Cathedral, begun in 975, then continue through the Old Town before discovering the Gutenberg Museum, dedicated to the history of printing and Johannes Gutenberg’s legacy.

 

Boat tour of Strasbourg and a visit to its cathedral

Enjoy a boat tour of Strasbourg, passing along its scenic riverbanks.

Admire the charming Petite France district, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as the European Quarter, home to key European institutions such as the Council of Europe and the European Parliament. Continue on foot to the magnificent Gothic cathedral, built over three centuries, known for its soaring spire, intricate façade, and distinctive pink sandstone that changes color with the light and sky.

 

Tour of Colmar and the Unterlinden Museum

Colmar will charm you with its authenticity and typical Alsatian architecture, featuring brightly painted half-timbered houses dating back to the Middle Ages.

Discover the picturesque “Little Venice” district before visiting the Unterlinden Museum, home to an impressive collection of artworks and artifacts ranging from prehistory to contemporary times. Housed in a former 13th-century Dominican convent and a 1906 public baths building, the museum was beautifully renovated in 2015 by Herzog & de Meuron. Its most renowned masterpiece is the extraordinary Isenheim Altarpiece.
