Set out today to marvel at one of the most outstanding wonders of human engineering on Earth; the Panama Canal. Today's experience allows you to visit a number of attractions related to the Canal and its history. See the Panama Canal Administration Building and the Goethals Monument commemorating the chief engineer of the Panama Canal. Visit the Stevens Circle Monument, the former Albrook Military Air Force Station, and head to the Clayton Military Base. Most importantly, visit the renowned Miraflores Locks to see large ships making their way through the Canal and learn about its operations at the Visitor Center. Your tour ends with a private transfer back to your hotel.
Get ready for some excitement today as you strap in and fly along an aerial tramway that traverses a mile-long tract of humid forest that lies within the Gamboa Resort’s boundaries. You will observe the forest canopy in some areas, likely spotting birds and hearing howler monkeys along the way. The tram ascends 280 feet for over half a mile and ends atop a hill. Then, on the following boat tour, you will pass by the Panama Canal right beside the huge tankers and container ships. The whiteface capuchin and howler monkeys are the main attractions of this tour. If you are attentive you may spot a sloth, always often times seen lazily sleeping in their trees. You may see turtles, timid but brave at the same time, along with the proud caiman and crocodiles that live in the lake. Your tour concludes with a delicious lunch and a transfer back to your accommodation.
